Scream'n is a continuity
tester that can work as a standalone unit or be used in conjunction with the
PowerProbe, it shares the same 4mm gold pated shrouded jack plug style
connectors at both ends so is compatible with the rest of the PowerProbe
accessories such as the gold lead set.
The Scream’n also has
twin built in LEDs to illuminate the working area just like its big brother the
PowerProbe 3 which can be switched on or off as required.
The volume level is adjustable
through three levels so the unit can indeed be made to scream or turned down for
those quieter working environments. A warble type tone indicates voltage present
at the tip whilst there are two different tones to indicate continuity above or
below 10 ohms. The low tone would indicate a good connection or
continuity.
The unit can be used to
test devices such as diodes and relays and act as an invaluable aid when fault
finding.
Unlike the PowerProbe 3
the Scream’n is internally powered by two AA batteries, just in case you worried
about leaving it on and flattening the batteries the unit will auto shut down
after 5 minutes of not being used.
The Scream'n comes complete with a
3m (10 foot) lead and an additional 3m (10 foot) extension as
standard. Due to the 4mm banana plug design additional extensions can be
purchased and quickly plugged in if required.
